Earth Day is an annual event which is being held on the 22nd of April, everywhere around the world. Organizations globally celebrate the Earth Day by conducting activities that are able to effectively spread the awareness towards the importance of environmental protection and conservation. The G.R.E.A.T. Awareness Club of APU has hosted the Earth Day in APU on the 22nd of April as well. A list of activities and events were being held with the common objectives: To spread the awareness on the importance of environmental protection and conservation within the APU Community, and to form a community of APU staff and students who are highly aware and responsible towards the global environmental issues that are happening nowadays.

Students from SMK (P) Sri Aman who took part in the performances
Students from SMK (P) Sri Aman and KVC Electrical Sdn Bhd were two among many external parties that were invited to take part in this event as exhibitors. They have demonstrated their range of green and energy efficient products, such as BioEnzymes, Organic Candles and so on. The day went on with a series of Guest Talks conducted by corporate leaders, with all of them focusing onto the implementation of green technology in current industries such as solar technology, power generation and so on. Students from SMK (P) Sri Aman also demonstrated their musical skills in the Eco-Friendly Band performances, which were amazingly fascinating, as they produced music and rhythms out of waste materials, such as old pails, brooms and so on. Badges with slogans and quotes that were related to environmental conservation were being sold at the price of RM3 by APU G.R.E.A.T. Student Group, in order to raise funds for the club’s operations, as well as to spread the awareness further.
