Working While Studying

If you would like to gain some work experience, you may be able to work while you are studying.

Working on campus

At APU, we have on-campus part-time working opportunities for students - library assistant, IT labs technical assistant, programmer, multimedia developer, and Student Ambassadors. Availability depends on the vacancies that we have for these positions throughout the year. Most of these working opportunities require that you have been an APU student for a minimum of 1 semester, are fluent in English, and have the ability to work in teams. Check this site regularly for notices of new openings.

There is no open position at this time. For consideration of any future opening, submit your resume / CV to us by completing this form.

Working off campus

Besides the work opportunities on campus, you can also engage in part-time work outside campus provided you have the approval. However, your studies must always remain your primary priority as International students are not allowed to work in Malaysia while studying.

For international students, you must have a valid Student Pass and be on a semester break of more than 7 days. This allows you to work up to 20 hours a week with a student work permit approval from the Malaysian Immigration Office. Please note that this is under very strict guidelines and you should consult Student Services on this matter.
