SUKANEKA 2024 at APU Unleashing Team Spirit

On August 16, the School of Media, Arts, and Design (SoMAD) at the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) transformed the campus basketball court into a vibrant playground for SUKANEKA 2024 – a day of fun, games, and unforgettable team spirit.

The event brought together over 60 enthusiastic participants, divided into five spirited teams: Mellow Yellow, Green Goobers, Blue Monster, Red Sus, and Violet Violence. Under the guidance of SoMAD’s lecturer, Mr Saifullizan Abdul Wahab, the day featured a series of lively and challenging games that tested the physical and manual skills of the participants.

From relay races to obstacle courses, students and academic staff eagerly embraced the challenges, each designed to promote teamwork and build lasting friendships. The sidelines buzzed with cheers and encouragement, as supporters passionately backed their teams, creating an electrifying atmosphere that will be remembered for years to come.

As the event drew to a close, the Mellow Yellow team emerged victorious, claiming the gold medal. Blue Monster secured silver, while Violet Violence took home the bronze. However, beyond the medals, SUKANEKA 2024 was a celebration of teamwork, camaraderie, and the indomitable spirit of sportsmanship.

Ms Debbie Liew Pooi Kuan, Head of SoMAD, shared her thoughts on the event: “SUKANEKA 2024 was a fantastic opportunity for our students and faculty to come together and experience the true essence of teamwork and sportsmanship. Events like these are not just about competition but about building a strong and united community within APU.”

The participants eagerly anticipate more events like SUKANEKA, where the APU community can continue to grow closer through the joy of sports and games.
