Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) strengthened its international academic network through an MoU signing with Guangxi Vocational and Technical College of Intelligent Manufacturing, fostering collaboration in intelligent manufacturing, engineering, research, and student exchange programmes.
Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) further strengthened its global academic presence through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Guangxi Vocational and Technical College of Intelligent Manufacturing, China on 24 April 2026 at APU’s state-of-the-art campus.
The collaboration marked another significant milestone in APU’s commitment to expanding international partnerships in engineering, technology, and applied education, particularly within the rapidly advancing field of intelligent manufacturing.
The MoU signing ceremony brought together distinguished representatives from both institutions.
The delegation from Guangxi was led by Ms Lu Lingfang, Vice President, alongside senior representatives from academic affairs and technical training divisions.
Representing APU were Professor Dr Ho Chin Kuan, APU’s Vice Chancellor and witnessed by Assistant Professor Ir Ts Dr Alexander Chee Hon Cheong, Mechanical Engineering Programme Leader from APU’s School of Engineering (SoE).
The session commenced with institutional presentations, where both universities shared insights into their academic strengths, research expertise, and industry engagement initiatives.
APU showcased its capabilities in digital technology, engineering, and industry-driven education, while Guangxi Vocational and Technical College of Intelligent Manufacturing highlighted its expertise in industrial robotics, intelligent manufacturing systems, and applied technical education.
This was followed by a productive strategic dialogue, during which both parties explored a wide range of potential collaborations.
Discussions centred on joint academic and research initiatives in intelligent manufacturing and engineering, student mobility and exchange programmes, industry-linked training and certification pathways, as well as collaborative curriculum development aligned with Industry 4.0.

Towards sustainable institutional collaboration and exchange
The engagement reflected the shared aspiration of both institutions to bridge academia and industry while advancing innovation in advanced manufacturing and digital transformation.
The partnership was officially formalised through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, symbolising a mutual commitment to developing impactful academic programmes, fostering innovation, and creating enhanced global learning opportunities for students and staff alike.
Following the signing ceremony, the Guangxi delegation participated in a guided campus tour led by Student Services and Marketing Executive, Ms Elaine Ngan Ei Lin and Student Services & Marketing Digital Recruitment Channel Specialist, Ms Sha Yuxin.


The delegation visited APU’s advanced laboratories, collaborative learning spaces, and technology-enabled facilities, gaining first-hand insights into the university’s practice-oriented learning environment and emphasis on experiential education.
Interactive discussions continued throughout the visit, enabling both institutions to exchange perspectives on teaching methodologies, industry collaboration models, and future-ready education approaches.
The collaboration aligned closely with APU’s strategic vision to strengthen its international footprint, particularly within the China–ASEAN education ecosystem. As a key gateway to ASEAN, Guangxi continued to play an increasingly important role in advancing vocational and technical education that supports regional industrial development.
Through this partnership, APU aimed to co-develop innovative educational models that integrated academic excellence with industry relevance, equipping graduates with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in the era of intelligent manufacturing and global digital transformation.
