Deloitte, KPMG and BDO Share Industry Insights at APU Pathfinder Forum 2026

The APU Accounting & Finance Club (AFC) successfully organised the Pathfinder Forum 2026 with support from the School of Accounting and Finance (SoAF) in collaboration with ACCA and MIA, featuring industry speakers from Deloitte, KPMG and BDO who shared insights on career pathways, professional qualifications and industry expectations, providing accounting and finance students with valuable exposure and inspiration for their future careers.

The Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation’s (APU) Accounting & Finance Club (AFC) successfully organised the Pathfinder Forum 2026 with support from the School of Accounting and Finance (SoAF), bringing together students and industry professionals for an insightful career-focused session.

Led by AFC President, Muhammad Umair Moniaruth and supervised by club Advisor, Mr Kannan Asokan, the event was organised in collaboration with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

Held on 12 May 2026 at Audi 7, Level 3, APU’s state-of-the-art campus, the forum aimed to equip accounting and finance students with practical insights into professional qualifications, career progression, industry expectations, and essential employability skills.

The session featured three distinguished industry speakers: Mr Eugene Chow, Business Process Solutions Leader at Deloitte Malaysia; Ms Soo Tho Pei Yin, Partner – Audit & Assurance at KPMG Malaysia; and Mr Tan Khoon Yeow, Partner, Learning & Professional Development at BDO Malaysia.

The speakers shared valuable perspectives on professional qualification pathways, workplace expectations, and long-term career development in the accounting and finance sector, offering students meaningful exposure to real industry practices.

Students who attended the forum described it as an enriching and inspiring experience. 

Nirosheny Jeyaraj, an Accounting & Finance student, said the event was filled with insightful discussions, meaningful connections, and motivating perspectives from industry professionals.

Her classmate, Sumeetha Davinia Sivananthiram, added that events like these were highly inspiring and encouraging for students pursuing careers in accounting and finance, expressing appreciation to the organisers and speakers for making the forum engaging and impactful.

Another student, Syasya Yasmin Syahril, also shared that it was a worthwhile experience filled with enlightening conversations, strong networking opportunities, and motivational insights from professionals in the field.

The Pathfinder Forum 2026 successfully enhanced students’ exposure to industry expectations and professional standards in the accounting and finance field, while providing valuable insights into recognised professional qualification pathways and career opportunities through engagement with industry experts, ultimately strengthening their knowledge, skills and confidence to support their readiness for future professional journeys.
