APU Hospitality and Tourism students visited Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown, gaining first-hand experience of hotel operations and guest service, with the unique opportunity to explore all departments and interact directly with the management team in a brand-new five-star setting.
A group of 22 enthusiastic students from Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation’s (APU) School of Global Hospitality and Tourism (SoGHT) recently embarked on an inspiring educational visit to Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown as part of their Accommodation Management, Revenue Management, and Introduction to Services Management class.
The striking five-star hotel, which opened in 2025, seamlessly combines contemporary comfort with elegant design and a prime location, catering to both business and leisure travellers.
Boasting 410 guestrooms, suites, and fully serviced residences, its interiors, crafted by renowned architect Kengo Kuma, artfully blend natural materials with modern sophistication.
The visit offered students an invaluable opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to hotel operations and professional hospitality practices.
They were warmly welcomed by Mr Linges Werren, Hotel Manager; Ms Racheal Cheong, Director of Human Resources; and Mr Sunny Khem, Teaching and Learning Manager, who guided them through the hotel’s operations and shared insights into the industry.
Students explored a variety of hotel departments, interacted with the management team, and observed the meticulous standards of service, guest experience strategies, and career opportunities within the hospitality sector.
The visit was led by Mr Shazeel Ali Sardar Ali, SoGHT Senior Lecturer, alongside Mr Kumaresu Murugasu @ Murugesi, SoGHT Academic Leader, and Mr Fan Wai Mun, SoGHT Senior Lecturer.
This experiential learning activity reflects APU’s commitment to providing practical industry exposure and strengthening partnerships with leading hospitality brands in Malaysia.
